Identify Your Most Important Problem

Use this chart to identify the level(s) of bookkeeping competency you need.

Examples

  1. Harry does his own bookkeeping at level 6 - transaction level bookkeeping, but he has some complexity at the level 12. 80% of the time he needs a level 6 bookkeeper and hires somebody to do the remaining 20% of  level 12 bookkeeping.

  2. Matthew was having trouble with his bank. The real problem was his bookkeeper was at  level 3. He needed a level 6 for 60% and a level 11 for 30% to get him the information he wanted on a timely basis to make management decisions.

  3. Charlie has been doing his own books on a J-level basis (level 2) and he had a CRA audit where he was denied a large number of ITC's. If he had hired a level 5 or 6 bookkeeper who did T-level accounting, he would have saved $30,000 worth of denied ITC's.
